Capsule Wardrobe: Long Weekend Getaway

Capsule Wardrobe: Long Weekend Getaway

So you’ve planned an impromptu trip for the long weekend and you don’t know what to pack. We get it. Planning a trip during a time where Summer is kinda over but not really, weather is usually so unpredictable and packing can be quite the challenge.

That’s why we’ve done all the not-so-easy work for you and cut down to only 15 essential pieces you can easily mix and match if you want to travel light this weekend. From lounging at your vacation rental to sightseeing, or city strolling to fancy dinners, we got you covered.

Keep on scrolling on for our recommendations.

The Basics

Pull-on Denim Skinnies - Simply because no capsule wardrobe is complete without a pair of jeans. Opt for a lightweight, stretchy pair that you can wear all day through night and won’t take up much room.

Loungewear Set - Cut back on packing too many going-out pieces (you know you won’t wear half of them), plan your outfits ahead, and make room for a cozy set to wear at night. It’s just so worth it.

The Not-so-basic T-shirt
- Take a step up from the regular basic white tee, and make your go-to basic a fun t-shirt instead that pairs great with denim.

Basic Long Sleeve
- Small enough to roll up and stick in a shoe, you hardly need to make any room for these. Wear for your day time duties with denim or night time adventures with a dressy pant or sleek skirt.

Layer Up

Everyday Blazer
- Pack in a lightweight blazer that is versatile. You want to go for something that isn’t too dressy, and not too casual so it can be worn day or night.

Sweater
- Wear it over a midi and add a gold chain necklace. Hows that for laid back luxury?

Jacket
- Isn’t one of the best parts about Fall being able to layer up with cool jackets again? Throw in a lightweight jacket that gives all the style points while keeping warm.

The Coatigan - It’ll come in handy when the sun goes down. Wear this one on your way there to save on luggage room.

For Your RSVP

Midi Skirt - Perfect for going out, but we think this can be dressed down for day time with sneakers and a comfy top, no doubt.

Day-to-night Dress - Having a versatile dress is always a good idea. Pack a dress that can be taken from day to night with a simple shoe change. Wear with sneakers and a high pony in the day, and let your hair down and bring out the pumps for your dinner plans.

Silky Tank
- The ideal going-out top.

Cute Blouse
- Wear with jeans for sightseeing, and dressy trousers for night time. Add gold hoops and a blazer to elevate your look.

Dressy Pants
- Opt for a flare bottom that can be worn with a cami and look ultra chic, tuck a cute blouse or tee into a dressy jogger.

Accessorize

Skinny Belt - You might not actually need it, but it hardly takes up any room and ties any look together.
