Smoothie Bowl Recipe

September is Better Breakfast Month so we felt inspired to bring you the newest thing in breakfast, smoothie bowls! Smoothie bowls are huge and a major obsession of ours because; a) they’re delicious and b) they’re just so darn beautiful!  This recipe is so easy and if you already have favourite morning smoothie you can simply transform it by serving it up in a bowl and layering on your favourite toppings.

It’s more satisfying than a typical morning drink AND it feels like desert for breakfast. Here’s how we made ours.

 

Blend:

1 cup of frozen berries ( we used strawberries & raspberries)

1 frozen banana ( this creates a creamy texture)

1 +  cups of coconut water or your favourite juice

Tip - you want just enough liquid to barely cover the fruit in your blender so it will blend but don’t overdo it or your smoothie will come out watery. We recommend adding it in as you go.

 

Next pour into a bowl and add your favourite toppings - So easy!

 

Toppings:

We recommend:

  • Fresh berries
  • Sliced Fruit
  • Granola
  • Nuts
  • Chia seed or hemp hearts
  • Coconut shavings
  • Cocoa nibs
  • Your favourite cereal
